London's Bobby Tank is a flag-bearing 80's icon, a mad astrophysicist, and a hip hop kid from the future freshly fallen through a wormhole to our present day and age. He's recently dropped tunes on the Aisuru Compilation and the Finest Ego & Project Mooncircle Compilation. He has a forthcoming release on Prime Dubs and now this, his debut EP, Vanquish.

The Bobby Tank sound is one of nostalgic synths repurposed for the present, complimenting soulful, blenderized cut-ups reminiscent of days to come. Delicately woven leads and atmospheres trickle down from the skies, tickling the ears with tantalizingly tasteful treble, and thick pulsing bass. This release comes replete with a gamut of remixes of the title track: 813's dope Dubstep lick; Kid Kanevil's seductive 808 mix; Jon Phonics smooth space funk refix and Darkhouse Fam's fresh wonk-hop version.

Distorted basslines and twisted melody embody the vibe of Cryptex's new "Isolated Incidents" EP,  out on Gravitas Recording. Los Angeles resident Tyler Chase, better known through his midtempo bass driven project Cryptex, is hastily achieving notoriety within the scene, with his debut EP seeking to solidify him among the names of notable similar minded producers today.

Upon first listen, the seven track EP pulls you into a vortex of mangled, beefy beats. Lasers shoot from unknown sources, striking synapses as bent bleeps scatter across booming low end. Half dancefloor crush and half headphone recline, Isolated Incidents will be on rotation in various situations. Big reese stabs and hip hop rhythms show a range of divergent influences throughout the release.

Brendan Angelides, aka Welder, is a California based artist more widely known in the music community as Eskmo. With releases under the latter guise on the labels of Ninja Tune, Warp and Planet Mu, he has gained notable transatlantic recognition from the likes of BBC Music, URB and FACT amongst many others.

Ancestor Media is the label he created as an outlet for his own personal creative endeavors. Past Ancestor releases include his collaboration with Amon Tobin entitled simply “Eskamon”, and the well-received Eskmo EP “Hypercolor.” His “Agnus Dei” track was featured on CSI: Miami in 2009 as well as an episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Welder explores a different side of the sonic and emotional spectrum. “Florescence” is Brendan’s 2nd album under this persona.While Eskmo traverses hi fi, twisted and bright outward explorations, Welder paints with washed lo fi instrument based ingredients, organic and digital. Weathered piano, warm strings, vintage drums, mandolins, synths and electric bass color the album. All the songs have a noticeable focus on recording room environments and the imperfections in the recording process, resulting in a very human, introverted yet gently playful experience.

The newest release from Ireland's wAgAwAgA finds the producer at the top of his game. Live instruments, field recordings from his travels to India & glitched out breakbeats mesh together with the skeletal remains of dubstep; all wrapped up within lush production and King Tubby-like studio trickery. This is the logical extension of what dubstep has become, and we hope that these types of progressions follow.
