ADDICTECH.COM FEATURED RELEASE : FREQ NASTY - LOW FREQUENCY PURELAND EP : FREQ NASTY RECORDINGS

The 'Low FreQuency Pureland EP' marks FreQ Nasty’s re-entry into the world of boundary-pushing music!

'Warm Dark Place' is equal parts West Coast glitch hop and UK tear-out. The influence of FreQ’s time in the US Bass heaven of California is obvious with a haunting melodic refrain offsetting the hefty bass pressure. '1000 Angels of the Heaven of Bass' is a crunkstep roller that takes the uptempo hiphop beats of the Northern Californian Hyphy movement and welds them to seismic 808 bassline. ‘The Heart of Definitive Meaning' is a slowly evolving journey into the more reflective side of Bass music, with swathes of guitar over a backdrop of distant chimes and revolving chords, all served on a bed of deep sub bass.

The LowFreQuency Pureland EP was selected by DJ Mag as the MoneyShot release for December, receiving a 10 out of 10.

Born in Fiji, raised in New Zealand and formed musically in the dance music revolution of London in the late 90’s, FreQ Nasty started his career on the seminal UK label Botchit & Scarper, moving to SKINT Records in 2003. He went on to release a slew of cutting-edge records, collaborating with and remixing a diverse range of artists including Fatboy Slim, Kelis, KRS One, Roots Manuva, Rodney P, and Reggae legend Junior Delgado.

With the cutting-edge re-design of his website, launch of his new label, and worldwide release of his new EP, FreQ is making a powerful entry into 2012.

Following no trends through his illustrious career and setting the pace for his comrades, we are confident in saying that Si Begg is one of the most impressive and prolific electronic music producers on the face of the earth. His remarkable catalog makes it appear to be easy to span multiple genres successfully over many years. Simplify Recordings has set a pace with bass music in 2011, and they rock into Addictech.com with a new artist – Balthazar!
