We’ve been waiting on a new release from Chris Komus, and it has finally arrived on Shanti Planti! http://add.tc/P200083

Floating in the dark space between atmospheric electronica and orbital bass, The Lioness draws listeners into a sprawling landscape of prophetic sound untouched by the passage of time — a place where futuristic bass, artistic rock and pulsating dub merge to create a sonic refuge where recreational thoughts blossom, rules are bent and imagination takes control.

Prepare for free fall as your mind and body dock with a vibrant cluster of micro-edited deep rhythms, instrumental samples and biosynthetic effects sewn from aural realms near and beyond. Peppered with glitchy basslines, psychedelic textures and chopped vocal samples, this transfixing song collection from Shanti Planti artist Chris Komus breaks into new dimensions inspired by the budding worlds of ambient bass, drippy glitch and psychedelic dub and further breaks the grip of genre on the electronic music world.

Take a trip with Wu Wei’s latest “Lifetimes Between” on Muti Music!

Take a trip with Wu Wei’s latest “Lifetimes Between” on Muti Music! http://www.addictech.com/p/194014

On ‘Lifetimes Between’, Wu Wei continues the progressive development of his sound, this time including a little more glitch to his usual melodic and ethereal sound. This all culminates into some of the most delightful electronic chillout music on Muti Music.

Wu Wei, a name derived from the Taoist path of non-action, has tapped into a universal song and brought its melodies into the physical realm. The result is a uniquely unifying effect, transcending language and cultural identity to remind the rest of humanity of their fundamental unity. The 21-year-old Los Angeles to Humboldt County transplant has spent his recent years perfecting his attenuation to the rhythms of the natural world. He strives to combine the soul reaching sounds of ambient IDM together with the earthy bass of futuristic world hip-hop.

Give it a spin, and enjoy the ride!

Deep bass music that crosses genres in echoes of dub, A Path Untold leads you through a Secret Subtle Light” http://add.tc/P194436

Label Press:

Debut album from producer A Path Untold focuses on a haunting, emotive sound - 1st release on Aligning Minds Recordings
A Path Untold is the solo electronic music project of producer, Daniel A. Merrill, who is one half of the genre-crossing duo known as Aligning Minds. Typically known for their work in the realms of 'transformational' psychedelic bass music, downtempo and idm, Aligning Minds has made a large impact on audiences worldwide with their melodic, soulful sound.
A Path Untold unlocks a new chapter in this producer’s focus, moving forward with the creation of music that defies genre categorization and captivates the imagination and heart. It explores the notion that "music is a mystery to be unraveled; a path to explore the far reaches of yet untold existence."

Drawing upon a fusion of genre influences like ambient, idm, deep house and world music, A Path Untold seeks to unearth new emotional response patterns within the listener for a mutually connective experience. The album will be the first release on the newly established Aligning Minds Recordings label, which will focus on “electronic music crafted with an emphasis on emotional depth and personal perspective.”

Crafted over the course of two years, this collection of 9 tracks explores various styles and structures, focusing on off-kilter rhythms, haunting modalities, a strong use of organic, found-sound and ethereal vocal explorations to create an otherworldly vibe.  Conceptually, the album is about self/collective discovery, light found within darkness, numinous experience, secrets, and the process of inward/outward illumination.

From conception to completion, Daniel worked dually alongside visual mixed-media artist Toby Verhines who created a stunning art package for the album, which will be available in hard-copy on both cd and vinyl.  Taking much from the the title and the music itself — literally and by way of abstraction — Toby created artwork crafted with the wholehearted intention of giving the music and the concept behind the music a textural and mythical face, so to speak. “The music inspired imagery of a venture into a ritual abyss led by the echoes of a sound so linearly far away, yet so familiar. As I listened, I questioned what the walls of this world would look like if only I had the courage to dim my lantern and look.”

This being said, the path Toby took in creating was very omnidirectional and very unconventional. His mediums and methods included, but were not limited to:  symmetry, a-symmetry, ink, salt, ash, various substrates, geometry, texture, macro photography, illustration, and manipulation. “I wanted the artwork to be an exercise in contrasts; viscous and sharp; dark and light; mysterious and familiar. This is what Dan’s compositions commanded….”

Plasma Audio, one of our absolute favorites with Proxima on this latest release!

Plasma Audio, one of our absolute favorites with Proxima on this latest release!

Plasma Audio are on the warpath at the moment. Their second release in two months is about to hit the shops and this time they’ve brought Dutch producer, Proxima into the fold.

Crane on the A side is a certified Plasma tune. Continuing along the vibe of previous releases like Sabre’s Yoga. Crane is a heavyweight halftime stepper that marches relentlessly and grows and grows along the way. A catchy, psychedelic lead dances over the top of the bass foundations.

On the flip, Jibber continues the march where Crane left off, but in the place of slow moving strength Jibber brings more energy and flexibility to the table. Glitched out and half time the intro introduction draws you into a false sense of security before the late drop comes into play, the gears shift up and Jibber sprints off into the distance.

Another certified smasher from the Plasma Audio camp all the way from Melbourne.

Addictech.com Featured Release : Beatroots - Mood Movement : Shanti Planti

Addictech.com Featured Release : Beatroots - Mood Movement : Shanti Planti

http://www.addictech.com/p/191920

The prolific bass explorer known as Beatroots returns to Shanti Planti with his seventh release, Mood Movement. This subversive & charismatic young fellow from Mid Wales (UK) is also the mastermind behind Brujo's Bowl.

A project which has provided the progressive trance community with an eclectic bass & techfunk hybrid form of Zenonesque prog. His two projects are of a similar sound, and although they're not of the same bpms or style. They're both bound to a course with the same intention. In this release, Saxon shows to us a tool which he was unsure to show at first. But decided that the message sung deemed it worthy. Track three, 'Solid Soul'. A minimal drum and bass feature with a twist of conscious lyricism, technical sound design and tactile textured bass lines, betrays yet another glimpse in to the extensive tastes that Saxon is inspired by. The five other tracks take on the form of Bass Music & Deep Dubstep, each with it's own vibe and hypnotic, perpetual crescendo. 'Mood Movement' and 'Rune Stone' bring on a techy dub and chord marauder high. Loaded with perpetual grooves and deepness that'll make those closed eye lids flicker along double time to that tappin' toe. 'The Lesson' and the remix of Circular's 'Constructive'. Recuperates the mind, body and soul by representing the importance of ritual and ceremony. Emotional and evocative, passionate and true, with bass lines to rattle the lungs within their ribcage. Last, but certainly not least, 'Sailor'. An experimental piece, that drives forward upon a half time Psytrance beat. Technical squelches and sound design accompanied by a few addictive licks from Saxon's accordion. Hence the name, 'Sailor'. In the near future, there's an assortment of 'Sailor' remixes due for release on Saxon's label, Triple Drop Productions.

Keep an ear out and a toe to the ground, as I'm sure the rumble of their approach shouldn't be hard to miss.

Pulsating Reality by MantisMash has Adapted leaning more toward the trippy side of things!

http://add.tc/P190152

Dip into the experimental, psychedelic experience of MantisMash - who steps into a time-bending, spacial orbit with this "Pulsating Reality" album. This musical journey has plenty of soothing melodies and tempo-changing rhythms to drain your worries and compress your thoughts into magical, glitchy dreams.

"Bass State of Mind" sets the tone with a melodic, midtempo flow. Things start breaking and drifting quickly into mind-numbing curves with "Folding Dimensions." The track bearing this album's name, 'Pulsating Reality," is a downtempo jam that breaks down with gripping sounds. There's a tasty mix of funk and dubstep as well - with tracks like "Desert Dub" transmitting sounds into outer space - complemented by two groovy head-boppers called "Squid Hop" and "Spectralize." Along with two collaborations with the space rock geniuses Ozric Tentacles, this is a special collection of morphed up jams. Check it out!

Addictech Records Presents : Austero - Resilient EP

Some things truly are unique. Austero is a Mexican that calls Australia home. He combines laid back guitar over immaculately produced glitched out breaks and hip hop jams in a way that we guarantee that you have not heard before. You can hear the authentic intention behind these tracks, a pure expression of an artist not compromising his sound, while expanding beyond his expected laid back approach to audio alchemy. From a DJ residency in one of Mexico’s largest dance clubs to touring with major heavyweights, Austero’s life influences create an environment in which he knows how to entertain and impress dancefloors worldwide.

Austero has had performances all around the globe, reaching the major festivals in the US, Australia, Canada, Mexico, even finding himself touching down in Japan. After being part of Dub Fx’s and OPIUOs Australasian tour last year, Austero is fully re-energized and ready for more. With both of his latest Addictech Records releases (Counter Culture EP and Sufi Dub Remix) going straight to #1 on Addictech.com, he has also released his downtempo delicacies on Interchill Records.

Also being one half of Sun:monx collaborative project with Opiuo, Austero morphs his characteristic live guitars into his own high end hybrid downtempo electronica solo project. These transmissions are not only musically but socially and politically telling a story of his years around this earth, his vision, and hope.

A very telling sample in one of our favorites on the EP says it all, as he speaks through the words of Jim Morrison. “I'd like to do a song or a piece of music that's just a pure expression of joy. Pure like a celebration of existence, you know? And like the coming of spring, like a sun rising. Just pure unbounded joy”

Austero, you’ve nailed it again and we are honored to represent your music!

Even though this release is available at over 300 outlets, we encourage you to purchase from the Addictech.com store. We are very generous to our artists, and by purchasing from this site you support them directly with no middleman.

Addictech.com Featured Release : Spoonbill - Tinkerbox : Omelette Records

www.addictech.com/p/189178

Spoonbill returns to the fore with his 4th full-length album Tinkerbox. This fresh sonic anthology traverses the landscapes of cinematic groove electronica like a caravan of space gypsies; packed with instruments, handmade sound toys, weird musical contraptions, trinkets, puppets, clowns and a kick ass high end recording studio inside.

Tinkerbox has been crafted as a eclectic but refined listening album that features a vast array of 16 musicians, recorded in many studios around the world from Canada to India and Australia. The live instrumentation has been forensically sculpted with synthesised tones and foley recordings to achieve a dynamic spectrum of tonality that provides the listener with an evocative cerebral experience.

Spoonbill’s latest album is like nothing he has done before - yet it also seems like a natural evolution of his signature quirky glitch-funk, genre-defying style. The album glides from beat-less sound art, to dub infused rhythms, exotic melodia and downbeat grooves. Pretty and uplifting jazz inspired crescendos are juxtaposed with quirky idiosyncrasies but also spiked with a smattering of dark moments. As the name suggests, this is a collection of tracks that he has been tinkering with for many years, recording artists as he has toured extensively, weaving and manipulating the vast array of recorded tones into refreshing new compositions. At times the music pulls back to reveal a cinematic sensibility, reflective at time, often playful and endlessly inventive.

After a series of high energy EP’s (Airborne, Astro Archepeligo & Boca Fiesta), this is Spoonbill’s first full-length album in 6 years since Zoomorphic (2009). Not that he’s been resting on his laurels, having released three EP’s & a stack of remixes in that time featuring his trademark funked-up ‘wonkadelic’ bass music, as well as creating sound design for video games and TV and touring the world.

Spoonbill aka Melbourne born Jim Moynihan is one Australia’s most unique electronic musicians carving out a signature sound that has influenced the glitch hop, broken beat & bass music genres in the electronic music scene over the last ten years. This album shines a new light on one of the pioneers of the Australian scene, adding a new feather to his already plumage-laden cap.

The cover art for Tinkerbox was painted by the artist’s father; Daniel Moynihan and is titled ‘Tinker van’. It was inspired by a true character who travelled rural Victoria, moving from town to town fixing anything and everything people asked of him. The albums title draws inspiration from this gypsy fixit man’s travelling caravan as well as Spoonbill’s own hands on experience building his own rammed earth house and recording studio in the hills outside of Melbourne, Victoria where he produced, mixed and mastered the album.

This collection of tracks represent the voyages of the mythical Tinkerbox as the densely laden caravan travels across the rolling fields of sonic landscapes pioneering new territories along the way.

Addictech.com Featured Release : Various Artists - Glitch and Funk Vol 1 : Adapted Records

Addictech.com Featured Release : Various Artists - Glitch and Funk Vol 1 : Adapted Records

http://www.addictech.com/p/188037

There's no denying the progression in Adapted's roster over the course of the past year with impressive talent and a massive evolution. It's all led to this - a collection full of tracks that was meant for covering an entire piece of time.

If the glitch and funk goes together here like peanut butter and chocolate - enter the party with Beat Fatigue's delicious "Funk Tube," rendering blues funk and oh-so-tasty glitch. Cheshire delivers a classic with "Sunday Drop," which blends traditional horns with vintage sounds for a tasteful groove. FarfetchD smothers us with a caramel smooth, tasty batch of electro medicine called "The Fever," which dials in a wicked track from start to finish. Father Funk and Kybosh provide the protein with two massive tracks, "Chocolate Milk and Split Minstrel." Put on your "Funk Face" with Mat Tha Hat, whose out of control single with drop your jaw to the floor. "Wiggle Bit" by Orphic is a magnificent track that uses a sexy riff, cinematic builds, and beautiful bells which lead to a glitchy breakdown unlike any other - an authentic take on post-modern disco. SpekrFreks bring the uptempo groove and full-court press with "Juke Joint"! Squelch's "Spiked Punch" delivers a stomach-churning glitch groove that will make you feel extraterrestrial!

And the funk keeps impressing... a separate paragraph is needed to discuss Labrat's remix of Sugarbeat's hit "Pretty Young Things." This wonderful midtempo jam could not give the original more magic. Tack breaks through with "Everything's Good," full of dance-friendly melodic breaks. Thomas Vent somehow manages to get heavier, funkier, and full of more aggression.. "Squealing Funk" is no exception. Vice City and Hexsonic collab for a futuristic jam which carries weight like a Flume single, full of effortlessly catchy beats. "Purple Funkazoids" by Warp 9 dials back for a taste of other-wordly breaks. This a compilation that re-establishes Adapted a funk powerhouse!

Last weeks #1 release was Dalton Richmond’s “Foreign Language” - check it out!

Foreign Language is a fusion of Odessa-esque future-beat sounds along with the ‘Purple’ sounds of oldskool MiMOSA. Dalton Richmond nails all the elements with strong chords, epic melodies and that vibe that says this might be the best night of your life.

Dalton Richmond is a 22 year old producer from Arkansas who first emerged on the Glitch/Bass music scene in 2013 playing under the name WET PAiNT, he dropped a few tunes and got recognized quickly as an emerging artist to watch. He released a tune on Gravitas Records and the first time he stepped foot on stage was opening up for Big Gigantic and HeRobust to a sold out crowd at the well respected Georges Majestic Lounge, since that the momentum has continued to grow.

Now finding his footing and releasing tunes under his birth name, this young artist has already played with the likes of national touring artists ranging from: Gramatik, Minnesota, The Floozies, Marty Party and even foreign producers Koan Sound and Joker - in some of the country's most renowned venues like: The House of Blues and Lizard Lounge.

Dalton primarily focuses his energy on making completely original sexy/melodic/ purple bass music to ensure a one of a kind sound for the listener. His goal for the year is simple: to put out some of the most uniquely crushing production he can and perform as many shows as possible.

His debut EP on Adapted called "Crooked" has four tracks that explore midtempo glitch hop with classy, complex style. Melt into a groovy funk with this easy-to-love, experimental flow layered with impressive sound design.

You'll find the first single "Bounce" has a similar rhythm and instrumental breakdown to something you might hear from Beat Fatigue with infectious soul riffs and wobbles that complement wild breaks. "Clip" is an uncontrollable file that can't be defined, filled with experimental styles of breaks and elaborate change-ups. This one really takes Faux Fur off the grid and into a new direction with the EP. "Fatso" is an amazing single that uses a little electro swing-style melody that blends with a fascinating, complex breakdown. Finally, "The Fool," follows the same structure as "Fatso" with more of a hip-hop vibe. These are some magical midtempo tracks.

Simply put, Ion Driver is a Jack of All Trades. Production, Mastering, Sound Design - the man does it all. And he does it phenomenally. Now he’s decided to create a compilation of 10 songs from a mixed bag of tracks from exemplary producers from across the globe. The production quality of this project is immense - each track is otherworldly in its sheer tonal energy.

The first entry is from French producer Ocoeur. “IM2a” begins the compilation with an anticipatory crawl through vibratory tingling, with increasingly intricate and stimulating construction. The piece has a very mysterious feel to it, and evoked feelings of nostalgia and reflections on the past.

Sweden’s Clockvice, only 19 years old, introduces the grimier side with “Don’t Expect a Change.” It’s slightly darker, slower, and primarily bass driven. The calculated climb to the conclusion induced a slight anxiety… but in the best way possible. As the track progresses it becomes more menacing, and the backing strings add to the ominous ambience of the song.

Fine Cut Bodies’ “The Firebug’s Last Dance” begins with what sounds like a fire crackling, while alien technology is being utilized in the distance. Once the percussion introduces itself the listener is lead to a cosmic tribal drum circle. A slight whirring and hoarse, gravelly scratches pepper the track eerily.

Another French entry from Life In A Box, “Proteodie” contributes the most viscous of liquid sounds. Soft picking reminiscent of Spanish guitar playing is incorporated to minuscule, but compelling percussion. The overall serenity of this piece is astounding. With eyes closed you’d imagine yourself in a clearing in a Tolkien-esque world.

Australia’s Auma contributed “Ukleus,” which continued the trend of strings, this time paired with seductive chime-playing. The layering is this track is exceptional, and what sounds like a xylophone perfect compliments the entrancing drum work.

Also from Australia, Griff’s entry is a remix of Grouch’s “Exile” The ‘Stateless Mix’ is more mid tempo, and is slightly more energetic than the rest of the project, yet it’s still halcyonian in it’s makeup. The sub-bass is remarkable - listening to this without a proper system is a sin. The whole track evolves very organically - the combination of the springlike bounce of the drums, the crisp wobble and the slightly eastern feel towards the conclusion of the track bring a certain playful liveliness to the compilation.

The Netherlands’ Roel Funcken (one half of Funckarma) shares with us “The Paradigm For Reverence.” Unlike most of the other songs on the compilation, Roel brings in percussion early. The profound piano composition has an alluring and magnetic charisma to it. The delay and echoing of the synths is almost bewitching.

EVAC’s “Source” is the greatest showcase of glitch on the project. The very mechanical and industrial song sounds like what discovering new life in a dark hovel on an uncharted planet would entail. The bass is truly superb in this one - EVAC left no stone unturned on the grittiness factor.

Ion Driver remixed Quanta’s “Vibratory Fields” for his entry. This piece is very slow and truly spooky - It creeps along, very mysterious exploration of darkness. Walking through an abandoned in dilapidated city … It’s not until 5 minutes in that the percussion really breaks through, but when it does, prepare yourself for a gurgling, doom-ridden adventure through a bionic canticle that bounces like an overinflated basketball. The whole album is picturesque, this tune especially, and the mastering (which was done by Ion Driver), is incredibly lush and full.

The compilation finishes with Skp’s “iliatil.” It begins with a single undulatory note… if you close your eyes you will wind up somewhere else… As the bass and the squeaking intensify exponentially, the celestial atmosphere provokes feelings of longing… for another compilation as groundbreaking and utterly inventive as this.
