A collaboration effort with A/V artist Pharo brings up the rear, titled “Scooby Don’t”, providing heavy vibes and a spooky overtone.

ADDICTECH.COM FEATURED RELEASE : FREQ NASTY - LOW FREQUENCY PURELAND EP : FREQ NASTY RECORDINGS

The 'Low FreQuency Pureland EP' marks FreQ Nasty’s re-entry into the world of boundary-pushing music!

'Warm Dark Place' is equal parts West Coast glitch hop and UK tear-out. The influence of FreQ’s time in the US Bass heaven of California is obvious with a haunting melodic refrain offsetting the hefty bass pressure. '1000 Angels of the Heaven of Bass' is a crunkstep roller that takes the uptempo hiphop beats of the Northern Californian Hyphy movement and welds them to seismic 808 bassline. ‘The Heart of Definitive Meaning' is a slowly evolving journey into the more reflective side of Bass music, with swathes of guitar over a backdrop of distant chimes and revolving chords, all served on a bed of deep sub bass.

The LowFreQuency Pureland EP was selected by DJ Mag as the MoneyShot release for December, receiving a 10 out of 10.

Born in Fiji, raised in New Zealand and formed musically in the dance music revolution of London in the late 90’s, FreQ Nasty started his career on the seminal UK label Botchit & Scarper, moving to SKINT Records in 2003. He went on to release a slew of cutting-edge records, collaborating with and remixing a diverse range of artists including Fatboy Slim, Kelis, KRS One, Roots Manuva, Rodney P, and Reggae legend Junior Delgado.

With the cutting-edge re-design of his website, launch of his new label, and worldwide release of his new EP, FreQ is making a powerful entry into 2012.

ADDICTECH RECORDS PRESENTS : SI BEGG - PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE

For the latest in-house label release, Addictech is excited to bring you a glimpse of what is possible with electronic music innovation. Following no trends through his illustrious career and setting the pace for his comrades, we are confident in saying that Si Begg is one of the most impressive and prolific electronic music producers on the face of the earth. His remarkable catalog makes it appear to be easy to span multiple genres successfully over many years. Si has always been a direct influence on Addictech and to work with him in releasing his latest output is an honor, as the mark that Si has made on underground bass music is undeniable.

Pre-Emptive Strike is a glimpse into the now of the Begg machine, foreshadowing the forthcoming full length album “Permission to Explode” which will be released on Addictech Records in early 2012. Exercising an extremely wide gradient of genres and sounds, diversity is obvious as he has an appropriate moment for the dancefloor as well as the afterparty, peak time or downtime, this is an expression from a true artist.

Beginning with the experimental noise of Alexandra Palace November 2nd 1936, then evolving and the rocking the dancehall with Reasonable Force, from the start there are clear indicators that this is not your standard predictable release. We roll next through popping and lighthearted melodic glitch with Bubbles, then Si wraps up the EP by washing over your ears with euphoric ambient waves in an epic and cinematic downtempo trilogy How The Internet Ruined Your Life – this is a ride through the synapses of one of the greatest minds behind the digital dance.

Intial feedback is a reflection of this quality release!

“New gltched-out-dope-ness on the large from Sibegg! Some nice ambient action balances out the package with a nice flavor.” – Uberzone

"I'm loving all the versions of 'How The Internet Ruined Your Life', good to hear some super washed out drifty sound design and atmospherics :)" - Dov
"This is quite epic so far, 'How The Internet Ruined Your Life' is probably the best piece of electronic orchestration since orbitals on and on, feels like it should be the ending to the hackers soundtrack but post 2012 apocalyptia reboot." - Udachi

ADDICTECH.COM FEATURED RELEASE : ACID CRUNK 4 : MUTI MUSIC

Muti Music is one of the main leaders in West Coast bass music, and most certainly one of the heaviest hitters in their release schedule is with the "Acid Crunk" series compiled by An-Ten-Nae.
An-Ten-Nae and his Acid Crunk machine has been on a non-stop rampage this summer, with major sets at festivals like Wakarusa, RE:Generation, L.I.B. amongst a host of others.

On his new Acid Crunk Vol. 4 compilation you start getting a feel for how diverse the ‘Glitch-Hop/Crunk’ music scene is, riding hand in hand with the growth of Dubstep and seen by many as ‘post-dubstep’. This isn’t Dubstep, Hip Hop, Wonky or anything usually packaged neatly for mass consumption. It’s an amalgamation of squashed neon-tinged futuristic bass music. All we can say is ...  get ready! An-ten-nae is currently touring internationally in support of the compilation, keep your ear to ground for his shows in a city near you.

ADDICTECH.COM EXCLUSIVE : TIPPER - BUBBLE CONTROL : TIPPERMUSIC

On 1/1/11 Dave Tipper brought us a wigglebass treat in the "Snake Eyes EP", an excellent follow up to his previous downtempo release "Broken Soul Jamboree" which tugged and the heart strings and yet again set a new standard for electronic music production.

Following in his esoteric prankster steps, he drops the low frequency hammer again on 11/11/11 with the "Bubble Control EP"!

4 Tracks of Tipper dancefloor excellence, each with a distinct flavor while still keeping the Tipper ethos of funky and driving rhythms, space age alien squiggles, and unbelievable sound design. One of the things that we appreciate most about Tipper is his ability to keep it fun, while still delivering aggressive bass that rattles the sternum and can blowdry your hair ;)

The Bubble Control EP further establishes Dave as the king of the glitchbass hill, and with hundreds of producers climbing to the top as bass music spreads across the earth, its going to be hard to catch up as the bar keeps getting set higher and higher.

His latest project 'Birds of Paradise' is also represented on the final track of the EP, which is the collaborative project with Torin Goodnight (Bird of Prey). ADDICTECH.COM FEATURED RELEASE : WELDER - FLORESCENCE : ANCESTOR MEDIA

Brendan Angelides, aka Welder, is a California based artist more widely known in the music community as Eskmo. With releases under the latter guise on the labels of Ninja Tune, Warp and Planet Mu, he has gained notable transatlantic recognition from the likes of BBC Music, URB and FACT amongst many others.

Ancestor Media is the label he created as an outlet for his own personal creative endeavors. Past Ancestor releases include his collaboration with Amon Tobin entitled simply “Eskamon”, and the well-received Eskmo EP “Hypercolor.” His “Agnus Dei” track was featured on CSI: Miami in 2009 as well as an episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Welder explores a different side of the sonic and emotional spectrum. “Florescence” is Brendan’s 2nd album under this persona. While Eskmo traverses hi fi, twisted and bright outward explorations, Welder paints with washed lo fi instrument based ingredients, organic and digital. Weathered piano, warm strings, vintage drums, mandolins, synths and electric bass color the album. All the songs have a noticeable focus on recording room environments and the imperfections in the recording process, resulting in a very human, introverted yet gently playful experience.

The newest release from Ireland's wAgAwAgA finds the producer at the top of his game. Live instruments, field recordings from his travels to India & glitched out breakbeats mesh together with the skeletal remains of dubstep; all wrapped up within lush production and King Tubby-like studio trickery. This is the logical extension of what dubstep has become, and we hope that these types of progressions follow.

An originator and major inspiration behind the burgeoning bass culture in both Denver and Colorado, Seied has been there since the beginning, pushing his low frequency waveforms through the years.

Tasteful glitches, rolling rhythms, and dense basslines are the recipe for success with these "Subdimensional Harmonics". Bringing a distinct sound and style to the table, Seied blends elements of glitch hop, breakbeat, and IDM - all with the intention to get you on the dancefloor to release yourself into the sound of the speakers flexing.

Even though this release is available on over 300 sites, we encourage you to purchase from the Addictech store. We are very generous to our artists, and by purchasing from this site you support them directly!

As diverse as this release is, it provides a proper party soundtrack through the entire adventure.

ADDICTECH.COM EXCLUSIVE : ORIGAMI PYRAMID EP : DEEPBLIP RECORDINGS

The "Origami Pyramid EP" consists of six songs each loosely representing different aspects of mental awakening. Many of the concepts are based on the philosophies presented in various documentaries including David Icke, Zeitgeist, The Venus Project, and Kymatica.

Longtime friends and collaborators slowspines (Los Angeles, CA.) and Joe Mousepad (San Francisco, CA) intoxicate us with a deep and mystical take on futuristic hip-hop - the first from their new project Origami Pyramid. This debut EP deftly weaves futuristic synths and contemplative lyrics to create a hypnotic collage. First introduced in Boston, the two created an innovative art collective, producing cultural events and promoting positive collaboration between local multimedia artists. Many years (and several cities) later, Origami Pyramid continues their effortless synergy between IDM and hiphop, with influences ranging from Aesop Rock, Del, and Antipop Consortium to Prefuse 73, Aphex Twin and Autechre. This is hip hop with a moody, smoked-out twist, a film noir drowning in landscapes of Bay Area foggy days, New England winters and the West Coast breeze.

ADDICTECH.COM EXCLUSIVE : ION DRIVER - HANG IN THERE : RICOCHET RECORDS

Following last year's Revolution EP, Ion Driver returns to Ricochet with a collection of driving yet subtle crisp sound sculptures in this latest Addictech.com Exclusive!

Dennis Bunton's production skills are of the highest caliber, and this new EP for Ricochet gives a flavor of what to expect from Ion Driver's regular live performances throughout the deserts of his native California.

A collaboration with Joby from Mad-Tek (Digital Distortions) kicks things off, built around understated drops reminiscent of Trentemøller's early work. Two contrasting interpretations of a live hang drum performance follow, one a hypnotic peacetime electro roller, the other a delicate burst of organic euphoria for sunrise. The collection is completed with a deep remix by Tokyo's Kawatin, fresh from his recent EP on Glack Audio.

ADDICTECH.COM EXCLUSIVE : CIRCUIT BENT - TRENCH FOOT : OMELETTE RECORDS

Shattering our minds with glitch and shaking the walls with bass we are honored to bring yet another exclusive release from the wizards of OZ, this time from Omelette Records and glitch masters Circuit Bent!

Somewhere on the cusp between genius and insanity lies the final frontier of aural pleasure. A hedonistic theme park that represents the final bastion against the mechanical grind of society's flesh eating jowls. If there was a sign, it would read "Trench Foot"

Circuit Bent are Eli and Jesse, two electronic outlaws hellbent on protecting the people from the sins of the music industry. Their new EP Trench Foot is both psychologically disturbing and physically challenging as it takes its audiences into the realm of the aural underground.

Their sound in Trench Foot is both raw and advanced, as Circuit Bent demonstrate why they have become a new force from Australia. Dubstep, Breakbeat and Glitch are certainly referenced, but to use any of the terms exclusively would be to underestimate exactly what Trench Foot represents.

ADDICTECH.COM EXCLUSIVE : SUGARPILL - MADE UP PLACES EP : SIMPLIFY RECORDINGS

Simplify Recordings presents the "Made Up Places EP", a strong release by beat slinger and glitch purveuor Sugarpill. This Los Angeles-based producer and performer has carved out a signature sound from the gritty edges of dubstep, glitch hop and West Coast bass music. Now expanding his beats into new regions of body-moving magic, “Made Up Places EP” delivers fresh surprises with heavy melodies in its six bass-drenched tracks.

Smeared with classic glitch sounds, “Zone 4” launches the EP with a melody that melts over an intriguing kick as crystalline tones dance in the skies above. Carbonated by a cascade of synths and a galactically funky beat, “Prettyshaker” is thick and heady, echoing through outer space with a bright jive and drooling bassline. Wade slowly into the dreamy and more downtempo “Chewbacca Hat,” a gurgling creeper that is slashed open until emerging with intense color towards the end. Starting with a hum and a G-funk feel, “Crazniac” leans back low before blasting off with chopped vocals on a sharpened saw. “Frowny Face” is the hardest offering the EP, a pummeling piece that contains a midrange monster who is trying to force its way out. Made Up Places EP closes with “Terrible People,” a warm and emotional track dressed up with splashy horns that leaves a chromatic trail of digital dust in its wake.

With a sturdy base set deep into the groove, coated in sonics from modern hip hop and electronica, the "Made Up Places EP" is an welcome addition to any bass music aficionado's collection. Only found on Addictech.com!

ADDICTECH RECORDS PRESENTS : BIRD OF PREY - PATHFINDER/METAKINETIC

ADDICTECH RECORDS PRESENTS : BIRD OF PREY - PATHFINDER/METAKINETIC
Bird of Prey is constantly forging new territories in psychedelic bass music, and his newest release on Addictech Records is a clear indicator that he is moving forward and evolving his sound. Refusing to go anywhere near the cliche current trends, he maintains his intention to weave an audio tale for the ages.

On "Pathfinder" Bird of Prey collaborates with Robert Rich and Ryan Johnson for an epic downtempo journey, creating an organic soundscape that is one of the best "chill out" tracks that we have heard in ages! Robert Rich has helped define the genres of ambient music, dark-ambient, tribal and world fusion with dozens of albums across three decades. Rich has performed in caves, cathedrals, planetariums, museums and concert halls throughout North America and Europe. His all-night Sleep Concerts have become legendary since their debut in 1982. His sound design graces many films, and as a mastering engineer he has applied his ear to hundreds of albums. Ryan Johnson is a musician of diverse talent and style. He currently performs with the electronic dance ensemble TROPO, the acoustic/vocal group Alabaster Stone, and rock/pop band Rain fur Rent.

"Metakinetic" brings us back to the dancefloor in a more traditional Bird of Prey vibration. Pumping basslines ride atop cleverly crafted beats, while intelligent arpeggios mesh with just the right amount of glitch. There is something distinct about the Bird of Prey sound, and we believe that he achieves his goal to create "Music to Expand the Heart and Blow the Mind"!

Even though this release is available on over 300 sites, we encourage you to purchase from the Addictech store. We are very generous to our artists, and by purchasing from this site you support them directly!

A.VANVRANKEN - LANDED : DALY CITY RECORDINGS

ADDICTECH.COM EXCLUSIVE : A.VANVRANKEN - LANDED : DALY CITY RECORDINGS

"Landed" is the third LP from IDM and Downtempo producer A.VanVranken, which was produced and fine-tuned over several years. Taking a cue from more mellow idm and ambient influences such as The Flashbulb and Autechre, "Landed" is grounded in melody and intentional beats rather than the harder idm-style turbulent noise.

Starting things off confidently with the sunny roadtrip of "Tomorrow" and ending with the deliberate calm chaos of "Scy", the album guides us through bright and danceable head-bobbing moments, industrial suspense, and introspective interludes catered by mysterious unintelligible vocal samples. Elements outside of IDM add variety and complexity to the soundscape, with intriguing distortions and repetitive glitchy hooks scattered throughout in a carefully-arranged and cohesive package.

Daly City drops a new spice into their recipe with this one, and it can only be found on Addictech.com!
