ADDICTECH.COM EXCLUSIVE : SUGARPILL - MADE UP PLACES EP : SIMPLIFY RECORDINGS

Simplify Recordings presents the "Made Up Places EP", a strong release by beat slinger and glitch purveuor Sugarpill. This Los Angeles-based producer and performer has carved out a signature sound from the gritty edges of dubstep, glitch hop and West Coast bass music. Now expanding his beats into new regions of body-moving magic, “Made Up Places EP” delivers fresh surprises with heavy melodies in its six bass-drenched tracks.

Smeared with classic glitch sounds, “Zone 4” launches the EP with a melody that melts over an intriguing kick as crystalline tones dance in the skies above. Carbonated by a cascade of synths and a galactically funky beat, “Prettyshaker” is thick and heady, echoing through outer space with a bright jive and drooling bassline. Wade slowly into the dreamy and more downtempo “Chewbacca Hat,” a gurgling creeper that is slashed open until emerging with intense color towards the end. Starting with a hum and a G-funk feel, “Crazniac” leans back low before blasting off with chopped vocals on a sharpened saw. “Frowny Face” is the hardest offering the EP, a pummeling piece that contains a midrange monster who is trying to force its way out. Made Up Places EP closes with “Terrible People,” a warm and emotional track dressed up with splashy horns that leaves a chromatic trail of digital dust in its wake.

With a sturdy base set deep into the groove, coated in sonics from modern hip hop and electronica, the "Made Up Places EP" is an welcome addition to any bass music aficionado's collection. Only found on Addictech.com!
